The Muslim World League condemned the Israeli settlers’ storming of the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in serious violation of relevant international resolutions and laws.
The League and its international councils, bodies and councils denounced this dangerous escalation that affects the sanctity of Islamic sanctities, warning against these continuous violations that threaten to escalate and mutual violence, for which everyone will pay the price, and push back peace efforts.
The Muslim World League stressed the importance of everyone working in pursuit of a just and comprehensive peace and stopping all practices that undermine peace opportunities in the region, in order to reach a solution to this crucial issue, which is at the forefront of urgent and painful international issues.
Today, Sunday, 2,200 settlers, including rabbis and members of the Knesset, stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in the morning and evening periods, in memory of the so-called “destruction of the Temple”, with the protection and security of the heavily armed occupation forces.
In the morning, 1,756 settlers, divided into 30 groups, stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, led by extremist Yehuda Glick, and Member of Knesset Itamar Ben Gvir. They performed Talmudic rituals at the Iron Gate; One of the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque, they also performed an “epic prostration” and raised the Zionist flag inside the mosque’s courtyards.
Meanwhile, the occupation forces arrested 8 young men from its courtyards, assaulted a photojournalist and took him outside the mosque’s courtyards, and arrested another photojournalist.
In the afternoon, the settlers resumed their incursions into the evening period, through 7 new groups, which increased the number of intrusions to 2,201 settlers, divided into 37 groups
