The Muslim World League welcomed the decision of the United Nations General Assembly to adopt March 15 of each year as the International Day for the Elimination of “Islamophobia”.
His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League, Chairman of the League of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, praised the efforts of “Islamic diplomacy and our partners from countries and international and religious organizations”, which resulted in the unanimous adoption of this pivotal decision by the member states of the United Nations.”
His Excellency stressed that this decision establishes an important stage in confronting hate speech, racism, intolerance and extremism, and contributes constructively and influentially to supporting dialogue initiatives between followers of religions and cultures, which leads to greater security, stability and prosperity for all human societies.
