His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, and his accompanying delegation visited the Kingdom of Thailand, in response to an official invitation he received from the Thai government.
During the visit, His Excellency met with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, General Prayut Cha Ocha, at the headquarters of the government, where his country welcomed the delegation of the League, noting the importance of the distinguished role of the Muslim World League around the world. He also congratulated Sheikh Al-Issa on being awarded an honorary doctorate from Pattani University.
In the content of the visit program, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the league met with the former Prime Minister and the current of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Thailand, Chun Lekpai, at the headquarters of the Thai Parliament, in the presence of the heads of parliamentary committees and parliamentarians. They held an extensive meeting, during which they discussed a number of issues of common interest and prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Dr. Al-Issa also discussed with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramodwinai a number of issues of common interest and determining frameworks for activating cooperation through initiatives and programs.
In another context, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League visited the Jim Thompson Howe Museum in the capital, Bangkok, and was received by His Excellency the Thai Minister of Culture, Ethiphol Khonplumi, during which a ceremonial presentation was presented that reflects images of Thai culture and traditions.
Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa praised the level of harmony in Thailand, praising his fruitful meetings with officials and leaders in Thailand.
