Anwar Ibrahim praises the presence and global weight of the (MWL) and appreciates its great Islamic role and its important stance regarding the situation in the Palestinian territories.
It has been agreed to set the date of the first session of the Southeast Asian Ulama (Scholars) Council… and the Summit of the Leaders of World Religions’ Followers in Kuala Lumpur under the auspices and presence of his country.

His Excellency the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mr. Anwar Ibrahim, visited the sub-headquarters of the Muslim World League in Riyadh and met with His Excellency the Secretary General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.
During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest were discussed, with his country praising the presence and global weight of the MWL, appreciating its great Islamic role and its important movement regarding the situation in the Palestinian territories, especially since it represents the Islamic association of the nation’s intellectuals and youth, starting from its main headquarters in Mecca, where the Qibla exists. His Excellency the Secretary General stressed that the Muslim World League is one of the good deeds of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which it has gifted to the Islamic world.
During the meeting, it was also agreed on the date of launching the first session of the Council of Southeast Asian Scholars, which was established by the league on 12/2/1443 AH, corresponding to 7/1/2022 AD, as the founding conference of the Council was attended by Islamic religious leaders in Southeast Asia. It has also been agreed to launch the date of the summit of the leaders of world religions in Kuala Lumpur, under the auspices and presence of his country. The summit will focus on launching a number of initiatives and discussing its executive programs to “promote awareness among young people” and “consolidate the values of coexistence among national diversity in the ASEAN region and around the world,” through effective tools with tangible and measured results that go beyond traditional and repeated meetings and theses.
